Alessia Avellino

Alessia specialises in industrial landscapes. Her work is made from fragments of different spaces and buildings, which, sketched, memorized and photographed, are then ‘assembled’ in the form of a drawing or a painting, onto canvas, board or paper. Her work is usually monochromatic, using contrast and line to explore light, atmosphere and movement. She likes to think of her paintings/drawings as ‘windows’ of space and light which the viewer can ‘walk into’, and which emanate energy and movement.

In 2004 Alessia won the Hugh Casson prize for drawing together with Paula Rego and Frank Auerbach. Her work is in public and private collections on both sides of the Atlantic, including ITV television, BP, London, Homan, Fenwick & Willan , London, Yolles, London.

Andrew Turnbull

His work is based on his views and love of the city. For him it is a celebration of the power, movement, pattern and life stimulated by these exciting architectural designs. These tall buildings create an illusion of power that make us look in awe and respect. 'They stand so firm with enormous, seemingly endless facades holding any number of tessellating patterns'. And yet in spite of the busy streets there is a stillness.

His recent work explores the contrasting surfaces, patterns and perspective within the city. Work such as 'Canary Cube' focus on the tension between the unfinished smooth iron skeleton and the tessellating windows in the towers behind.

His work is in the collections of the V & A Museum, Churchill's College, Cambridge, the Royal College of Art and Loughborough University. His work is also collected by well known public figures. He has also done commissions for Cable & Wireless, London and R3 Aldersgate, London.

John Duffin

John Duffin's work has a rather nostaligic feel reminiscent of the fifties. The onlooker is often drawn into the scene from the high view point looking down. People are dwarfed by their environment. There is a sense of isolation and routine.

Public collections:
Ashmolean Museum, Oxford
Museum of London
BBC London
Cumbria County Council

Paul Rudall

Paul Rudall works instinctively, making marks, using lines & creating textures until the image seems perfect in balance and composition.

"I believe that works of art whatever style, medium or period are, in effect self-portraits, making inescapable expressions of the artist's personality."

Victoria Chaffe

After many visits to various botanical gardens Victoria has been inspired by the innate beauty of the exotic and opulent tropical flora. The colour, vitality and natural geometry of the leaves both fascinate and excite her. She draws the onlooker into the rich and luxuriant world of the tropical rainforest.
